The scale says it all! This is exactly how I feel this morning. How did I not notice I was putting on all those extra pounds? Maybe it was because I live my life in scrubs most of the time. At least that is what I tell myself.
Today I tried putting on a pair of jeans that I wore last summer..... not pretty. I couldn't even get close to snapping them.
So it's back to weight watchers for me! Good thing I have a lifetime membership!
I have to admit, there's just something about an all white kitchen that i love! Here are a few inspirations.
The black chalkboard wall is a great idea! If you don't feel brave enough to paint a whole wall, paint the back of the kitchen door, as i did in my home. It's a great place for busy families to keep in touch. My kids always left notes as to where they were going and who with etc.
What a neat use of a ladder! If you can't find an old library ladder any ladder can be adapted.

I woke up today to another cold, cloudy, January morning. Last night i was coming down with a sore throat and this morning there was no sign of it getting better. So I decided it was a great day to stay in, get things done around the house that i have been putting off, and to make cookies.
2 1/4 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1 3/4 cup Nestles Toll House milk chocolate morsels
1 cup chopped nuts Preheat: oven to 375 degrees Combine:flour, baking soda, and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in a large bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded teaspoon onto a ungreased cookie sheet. Bake:9-11 minutes or until golden brown. this makes about 5 dozen cookies. Note:I usually double this recipe. They don't last long with four boys in the house! Enjoy!
so my couch dilemma continues. many of you know i have wanted a new couch for 4 years and find it hard to make a decision. i have however, narrowed it down to two couches! the first one is the carmen sofa from pier one. you can't tell from the picture but it has nail-head edging across the back and along the bottom. it also has turned, espresso legs. it retails for $799.00 and is currently on sale for $699.00. it would give a little more formal look to my livingroom and i like the taupe color. here is what it looks like in a room. i love thepillows across it. i have my eye on some from pottery barn that would give me the same look. here is my other choice. of course not in this color (not a good choice with 10 grandkids and a dog) ! i also love this one. it looks so cozy doesn't it. this has a more casual look but it could also go more formal. the bonus of this beauty is the slipcover comes off for washing. however it is also a $2000.00 couch. why is it so hard to just make a final decision? which one do you like?
