We are a magazine that debuts Fall 2011. We are all about the country, sweet tea, indie music, antiques, road trips, small towns, comfortable homes, artists, locally grown and locally made, one-of-a-kind art, open spaces, photography, and the little things that make life awesome.. oh and we love putting a Generation Y twist on all aspects of country life that we all love...
We are All American Living!

is due to be released on Sept. 1st!

I am so excited for Ben and his staff. This has been a labor of love for 8 months and now his dream has come true!

I Love everything they are!

Hot Summer Day Icing, yum. We are really enjoying this blazing, hot day with our sun tea and this delicious cake topped with this icing. Check out our simple recipe!

Hot Summer Day Icing

1 pound - Powdered Sugar

1 cup - Heavy Whipping Cream

1 pinch of Salt

Simply mix all of these ingredients in a mixer until you get stiff peaks when pulling the mixer out. Simple!

Today in my Garden

The weather has been so hot and humid here lately. Today we finally have a break from the heat. I was up early cleaning out my car and enjoying some time in the garden.
How can one car get sooooo dirty? I don't have little kids in the car anymore and it still manages to get dirty. I guess that's a whole other blog!
 With all of the hot sticky weather the weeds had kind of gotten out of hand!

So out to the garden I went early this morning and I also managed to get a few photos of my garden this week.

I think this one is "Janice Brown" but it looks a little more purple than Janice.
Could this be "Prarie Blue Eyes"?
All of my daylilies I brought with me when we moved and unfortunatly I didn't mark them. I did have "Prarie Blue Eyes" in my old garden.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this plant!

It looks like big puffs of cotton candy in the garden!

Every year I have to plant different types of Zinnias. I think they are such a happy flower!

Manarda "Marshals Delight" and Cone flower

Cleome is another annual I have to plant every year. This flower is not quite open yet. I love how they look like fireworks exploding!

Ligularia The leave on this plant are impressive when the plant is not in bloom!

Life on the Farm

My friend Judy has a wonderful farm in Milford, Nebraska! Judy has been an antique dealer for many years and has been a great support to my daughter Janelle as she opened her primitive shop. 

Anywhoooo...

Judy has frequent barn sales and I love taking the opportunity to grab some great photos!

HELP me Please!!!

Ok.......I didn't think I was that technically challenged but.....I have tried for hours to get a button on my blog! I am pulling my hair out and screaming profanities!! I have googled how to add a button to your blog and have followed easy step by step instructions off of two sites and still no button! What the heck am I doing wrong?? You can see by looking at my side bar what I end up with.

All advice is really appreciated.
