Harvest Gathering

I had a wonderful time this weekend taking pictures for my daughters annual Harvest Gathering!
There were primitives, folk art, vintage finds, yummy candles, good food and music.

I loved these old barn shutters. They now belong to Cammie. Maybe I will see them again at the

it was so much fun! I took lots of pictures and even brought home some new finds of my own!

Collecting~Vintage Bread Boards

It's such a beautiful day today and I didn't want to waste my day sleeping....even though I worked a 12 hour shift last night.
I grabbed my camera and decided to take some pictures of more of my collections.

Bread Boards

I first started collecting these when I inherited a pig breadboard.  At first thought I would collect only pigs however, I was quickly drawn to breadboards with color and different shapes.
There is something so charming about them. I love the old patina, and the more they look well used the better!
Of course, I never use mine...they just sit on my counter for me to admire.

I really have a hard time not to buy one when I see it. They hardly take up any room and most are pretty inexpensive.

I love my round board with the blue paint and all of the little knife marks. Someone must of chopped, sliced, and prepared meals waaaay more than I do!

What do you collect?
Until later............

Nelly's Nest

Many of you know that my daughter Janelle, owns a wonderful little primitive antique shop. She does such a great job with all of her displays and always making sure she is bringing in new things. I love stopping by when I am in town and taking a few pictures for her.

These are just a few pictures I took recently.

Collecting~Ironstone

We are having a heat wave here and sadly to say I haven't been in the garden much. It continues to bloom in spite of my neglect.
Several post ago, I said I would post some of my collections.

Why do we look for that one thing we must have, and find so much delight when we find it?

For me it's the thrill of the hunt and spending time with the special people in my life. It's relaxing and cheap
 therapy....well sometimes:)

Collections furnish a home. They are physical, touchable, tangible things. They help create a space that tells people who you are when they visit your home, and again, your environment is a very important part of your identity.

My collections continue to change.

Currently I have been collecting:
Ironstone

This is Imperial Pottery from England
Pattern: woodland

I don't have much of it yet. Several platters, bowls and plates.

I like to mix it with other ironstone.

I love the staining on this little covered dish!
and the book...a lovely little swedish book I found at

Nelly's Nest.
I will post on it later.

I also am collecting:
Blue and White Willow Ware
Westmoreland Hen and Chick covered dishes
flower frogs
old garden tools
bottle brush Christmas trees
putz houses
ironstone butter pats
Glass Cross top bottles

I would love to hear from you all and find out what you are collecting!

Until Later................
